Central Otago has been experiencing a sustained period of cold weather since mid May 2015. The main activity in the vineyards this time of year is cutting off last years shoots, removing and untangling the shoots from the wires, mulching the cuttings and then carefully laying down and training the reserved shoots for next summers growth.

Optimism prevails after a roller coaster season, cool weather early Autumn allowed some good hang time to develop flavours and the rain held off nicely until 98% of the fruit was picked. Very few frosts in the end and another safe vintage in the bag. Early tastings from 2014 looks like another stellar year to follow on from 2012 and 2013.
